Kumu Hina Book Reading

Kumu Hina is a mahu (3rd gender) Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian) who recently wrote a children's book on being mahu. This book is used in K-6 education in Hawai’i and addresses both Ethnic Studies, Indigenous Studies, and Gender & Sexuality Studies.

We encourage local educators to participate in a networking session from 5p-6p, and welcome API, API LGBTQ, and LGBTQ families with children to come for a special book talk presentation from 630p-730p.

Please make sure to RSVP!

This program is cosponsored by Southwestern College - CHAI API Affinity Group, Southwestern College - Asian American Studies Program, Southwestern College - Native American & Indigenous Studies Program, San Diego Community College District professional Development, and API Coalition.
